Scientists develop new laser materials for biomedical applications
Science and Technology and the University of the Basque Consejo Superior de Investigaciones CientÃficas (CSIC) and the University of Madrid scientists together to develop a new type of laser materials, laser can expand the application in the biomedical field. Scientists combine dye molecules to make them more efficient and durable. The results were published in the journal Nature Photon and have been used in medical, agricultural and environmental sciences. By combining two latex nanoparticles dispersed in water, scientists have achieved a long-lasting and efficient red laser. Red laser wavelengths are key to light energy therapy, such as in ophthalmic surgery and skin treatment. Scientists decided to combine two types of molecules with Strep resonance energy transfer (FRET): one is the donor molecule, which is easily excited but hardly damaged; the other is the working molecule, which receives the energy of the donor molecule to produce light. New laser material The researchers emphasize that this new material laser avoids the use of large amounts of toxic or carcinogenic organic solvents, reducing the generation of harmful waste to the human body and the environment.
