Vertical high pressure steam sterilizer maintenance and maintenance

The pressure steam sterilizer is a device that uses heat factor to kill microorganisms, heats high-temperature and high-pressure water vapor generated in a closed container, and uses its latent heat to sterilize the articles. The sterilizer is mainly composed of a container, a gate, a pipe system and a control system, and the door opening direction is upward, and the inner chamber material is made of SUS304 stainless steel plate.  

In order to ensure that the sterilizer is in good working order and to minimize the number of failures, the operations described in this chapter must be followed.

Before starting maintenance, be sure that the device is powered off. At the same time, there is no pressure in the sterilization container.

After the end of the day, wipe the door rubber ring with a soft cloth or a piece of gauze. Take out the basket. Wipe the inner wall of the sterilization container with gauze with detergent and water. Do not use steel slag or steel brush to avoid damaging the inner wall of the chamber.

Clean and remove scale from the sterilized container. Let the water in the tank be drained.

Once a week, add molybdenum disulfide grease to the door.

Once a week, wipe the sterilizer cover with a soft cloth.

Clean the filter spool once a month.

Check the escape valve once a week.

Check the safety valve once a week.

Once a year, tightening the joints and detecting the on-off condition should be done by a professional electrician.

Once every 5 years, the door lock device must be inspected due to extreme wear and tear.

1.1 Water tank change

1) Remove the transparent silicone tube and drain it until the water in the tank is drained.

2) Inject distilled water into the water tank, the water level should reach the highest and lowest water level of the water level gauge.

1.2 Yi steam valve cleaning steps:

Before starting, cut off the power supply and ensure that there is no pressure in the sterilizer chamber

1) Remove the tank cover.

2) Flush the steam valve hole by stretching the steam valve core (exhaust screw).

3) If necessary, replace the escape valve. Before replacing, wait for the equipment to cool and the pressure drops to 0 MPa.

1.3 check safety valve

It is located above the back of the unit.

In order to prevent the safety valve from being blocked, in normal use, the steam pressure is released once every two months.

1) Perform the sterilization operation according to the manual.

2) A pressure of 0.21 MPa is generated in the sterilization container.

3) Push the safety valve handle with a screwdriver so that it is open for about 2 seconds.

4) Turn off the main switch and terminate the operation. At the same time, the water vapor in the sterilization container is discharged.

5) Wait until the pressure drops to 0 MPa before opening the door.

1.4 How to replace the safety valve

1) Located above the rear of the unit.

2) Remove the safety valve fixing screw and remove the safety valve from the safety valve base.

3) Replace it with a qualified safety valve. Test the sterilization process.

1.5 thermostat

The sterilizer is equipped with a thermostat located inside the unit. During the heating and sterilization phase, it maintains a constant temperature by turning the power on and off. Usually used as a temperature alarm device.

If the pot temperature exceeds the allowable value, the thermostat automatically disconnects the heater.

When the pot temperature drops below the allowable value, the thermostat automatically turns on.

1.6 How to improve the operating temperature of the thermostat

This operation is limited to the use of a screwdriver by a professional to slightly rotate the center screw clockwise to raise the temperature.

1.7 Steps for replacing the heater

Before this operation, the power should be turned off and the chamber inside the sterilizer should be free of pressure.

1) Remove the sterilizer cover.

3) Disassemble the wiring on the heater.

3) Loosen the set screw on the heater.

4) Replace the damaged heater with a new heater. The position of the new heater should match the position of the heater being replaced and be wired.

5) Install the sterilizer cover.

6) Test all work processes.

1.8 door safety interlock

A safety device that prevents the door from opening when the sterilization container is under pressure. This system is based on the pressure generated in the sterilizer chamber. The pressure generated by the internal chamber of the sterilizer will push the movable clutch up and the fixed clutch into close contact. It prevents the operator from opening the door by mistake. When the water vapor is released, the device returns to its original position so that the door can be opened.

1.9 filter cleaning

The filter is located at the bottom of the unit and is used to filter out impurities and ensure the smoothness of the line and the tightness of the solenoid valve. Unscrew the filter nut from the chassis of the device, remove the filter cartridge, and clean the filter cartridge, about once a month.

1.10 solenoid valve cleaning steps

1) Disassemble the sterilizer cover.

2) Use a screwdriver to pry open the stainless steel tab of the solenoid valve.

3) Lift the solenoid valve coil.

4) Open the valve body with a wrench.

5) Rinse the debris on the valve plug with clean water.

6) Reinstall the solenoid valve.
